Earl W. Scott, 74, Greenfield, died Tuesday, May 21, 1996, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born April 11, 1922, in Hancock County, he was the son of Walter and Nancy (Wales) Scott.

He worked for Eli Lilly and Co. in Greenfield from 1945-1985. He was a member of Greenfield Christian Church, Lilly No. 347 American Legion. Retired Officer's Association and the Air Force Association. He was a World War II and Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1941-1972. He was a pilot of C-47 and AC 119 aircraft.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Peele) Scott of Greenfield; sons Michael Scott of Colorado Springs, Colo., and David Scott of Charlottesville; a daughter, Nancy Apple of Greenfield; and four grandchildren; Carol, Joan, Linda, and Eric Scott. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Mae Scott.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenfield Christian Church with the Rev. Roland Pfile officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Pasco Memorial Mortuary and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Greenfield Christian Church Capital Fund.
