Vella Virginia Asbury, 90, of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Eldercare of West Virginia, Ripley, after a long illness.
She was a homemaker and a member of Briar Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Carol Asbury, and husband, Colonia Asbury.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Judy) Asbury of South Charleston; daughter-in-law, Jewell Asbury of South Charleston; two sisters, Lillian Smith of Charleston and Nina McKenzie of Princeton; three granddaughters, Monica Sigmon, Janet Blankenship and Sherri Asbury-Casto; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
