CHRISTOPHER, Ollye Harkness of Kerrville. Age 75. Died 11/30/1989 (Friday) in a Houston Hospice. Graveside services held (Sat.) 12/1 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

She was BORN 7/18/1914 in Thorndale, to Bunnie Vick Brock and William Baskin Harkness, M.D. After her father died in 1918, she lived in Watson Branch Comm. when she moved to Thorndale to attend High School and graduated in 1931. After graduation she lived with her sister and attended business school in Beaumont. Returned to Thorndale and worked at Crystal Plant, The First National Bank and Thorndale Mercantile Co. Married Garth Christopher of Beaumont on 10/20/1935. They lived in Beaumont, Houston, Fannet, Tarkington's Prairie, Liberty and for more then 25 years in Boerne, TX. Celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1985 and Garth passed away in 1986. She worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and newspaper writer until retirement in 1979. Active in Kendall Co. Historic Soc., helped write a published history of the county. Member of the Major James Kerr Chapter of the DAR in Kerrville, member of the Kendall Co. Republican Women's Club and did volunteer work at the Kerrville Veteran's Hospital.

SURVIVORS: Children, Olga Jean McLaren & husband, Theron; William Garth Christopher & wife, Elizabeth; 4 grandchildren; brother, Robert Harkness of California; half-sister, Mildred Thompson of Louisiana.
