FELFE, Mrs. Emma (Ernest) of Thorndale. Age 81. Died 1/26/1949 (Wed.).

She was BORN Emma Schulz in Germany on 4/05/1867. At age 5 she came to Texas and settled near Giddings. She was confirmed on 4/10/1881 by Pastor J. Kaspar in Eber Ezer Church at Manheim. She married in the same church to Ernst Felfe on 10/05/1887. To this union 14 children, 6 boys and 8 girls, were born. In 1896 she moved to Thorndale and lived on a farm north of town for over 50 years. She was a kind mother and an industrious housewife. Member of St.Paul's Lutheran Church for 52 years.

SURVIVORS: 4 sons, Willie, Oscar, Adolph and Arnold; 8 daughters, Mrs. Bertha Heintze, Mrs. Selma Bieberstein of Manheim, Mrs. Alma Roepke of Austin, Mrs. Clara Hoes of Austin, Eleonora Felfe, Mrs. Martha Hengst of Austin, Olga Felfe and Mrs. Hulda Roepke; 48 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brother, P.F. Schulz of Thorndale and sister, Mrs. Carl Merkord of Robstown.

Wilhelm Schulz, Amalie Werner Schulz & 4 children Gustav, Emma, Marie, & Bertha departed Hamburg Germany 6 Apr 1872. A 5th child Wilhelmina Saxonia Schulz was born in route to America. They arrived in New Orleans 6 May 1872 on board the vessel "Saxonia" Manifest #00018728
