Hugh was the son of Everett Washington Tucker and Hannah Mowrey.
He married December 28, 1847, to Patience Matheney.
They appear in the 1900 and 1910 census of Meigs Township, Adams County, Ohio. Hugh was a farmer. In 1900 the Ancestry.com index has them under "Luken".

Obituary: Hugh Means Tucker was born near Bentonville, Ohio, December 31, 1832 and deceased on September 8, 1913. He was the son of Everett and Hannah Tucker and was the last of a large family. Mr. Tucker was married to Patience Matheney on December 28, 1844, and to them were born ten children of which three are deceased. His eldest son John, died in Winchester on June 28, 1913. Mr. Tucker left a wife, five sons, one daughter, 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In 1864, he volunteered in Co. I, 182d Regt. OVI.
In early life he united with the Christian Church. He was a member of the Scrub Ridge U.B. Church from which his funeral was held on September 10, 1913.-ACR, 09-18-1913.)
