Maxwell Park Robertson was born 9 Jun 1894 in Teton, Fremont, Idaho to Andrew and Annie (Park) Robertson. Andrew, Maxwell's father was an immigrant to the United States from Killuring, Aurshire, Scotland, as was his mother Annie Park. She was born in Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland.

Maxwell was the youngest of eight. His 2 oldest siblings William Robertson, 26 Feb 1880, and Margaret Maxwell Robertson, 28 Aug 1881, were born in Scotland, so his parents must of immigrated to the United States between 28 Aug 1881 and 15 Mar 1884 when his sister Janet Miller Robertson was born. His other siblings were: Mary Spence Robertson, 2 Sep 1885; Annie Robertson, 21 May 1887; James Park Robertson, 6 Apr 1889; Andrew Young Robertson, 6 Feb 1891.

Maxwell married Sarah Elizabeth Hysell, 7 Mar 1916, in Millburne, Uinta, Wyoming where they had a ranch together.
They had 7 children together: Earl Park Robertson, 26 Dec 1917; Annie Robertson; Denver Llewellyn Robertson, 8 Nov 1923; Harold Maxwell Robertson, 12 Apr 1925; John Felix Robertson, 22 Sep 1927; Vern Robertson, 13 Sep 1929, and Bernice Robertson, 18 Jun 1932. Harold only lived 13 days.

Sometime during the Great Depression, Maxwell lost his Bridger Valley Ranch because he was unable to pay the taxes. The family then moved to Evanston, Uinta, Wyoming where Maxwell began working for the Union Pacific Railroad. He later worked for the city of Evanston operating their sewer treatment plant.
