Donnell Mathena, 90, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Betty McKenzie, in Mission Viejo, Calif. He was a former resident of Franklin. He was born March 3, 1904, in Johnson County. His parents were Robert Mathena and Lessie (Cook) Mathena. He married Mary Chandler March 19, 1927 and she preceded him in death on March 29, 1950. He then married Marcia Blaich Nov. 14, 1951, in Franklin. She survives and resides in Franklin.

Other survivors include a daughter, Betty McKenzie of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Hilda Jones of Winchester, KY; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son, Donnell Mathena; and a daughter, Isabelle Ramey.

He was a graduate of Union Township High School. He was retired from Indiana Gas and Water Company. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Franklin Eagles.

Services were entrusted to Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home of Franklin, Indiana.
