Mrs. John D. Blessing, 64, died at the home of her brother, Henry Vandruff in Kahoka, Monday, August 9, at 12 p.m. after a brief illness. She had made her home with her brother for the past four years after the death of her husband, Mr. Blessing.
Mrs. Blessing was born at Williamstown, Missouri, May 6, 1873. Her father was George Vandruff, a native of West Virginia, and her mother, Sarah Moore Vandruff of Indiana.
Four children survive; George V. Blessing, of Downing; Guy H. Blessing of St. Anthony, Iowa; Mrs. Marie Farland of Memphis; and Roy Blessing of Downing.
Funeral services were held from the Coffey church near Downing, Thursday, at 2 p.m., with burial in the Coffey cemetery.
