A. L. Grissom, 81, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2005.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Bosqueville United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Roberts officiating.

A. L. was born August 8, 1923, in Omaha, to Henry and Lillian (Stephens) Grissom. He proudly served in the Marine Corps for 22 years, retiring as a Gunnery Sgt. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea.

He was active in the VFW, and supported the American Cancer Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Lavern Grissom, Hoyt Eugene Grissom, and Henry Orville (Hank) Grissom; and sisters Marie Forbes and Evelyn Rankin.

He is survived by his spouse, Jo Ann Grissom; son, Allan Grissom; step-son, Noble Wallace; step-daughters, Kim Wall, Sherry Perry, Twila Grimland, Barbara Wallace, and Deborah Henson; sister, Dorothy Holcomb Breedlove; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Bosqueville United Methodist Church, 7327 Rock Creek Road, Waco, TX 76708.

He came, he saw, he conquered, and he left.

Allen Lee "aka A.L. and Bill" Grissom was not born in Omaha as stated in his obituary above. He was born in Dangerfield, Morris Co., Texas.

Also served as the Chief of Police for Clifton, Texas in the early 1970s. During this time he and Signora Larue Hill had a little girl named Allanna born in 1972.
