Adair Betty J, 82, died Jan. 12, 2001 at her residence. She was born July 19, 1918 in Fort Wayne to John and Cecilia (Mettler) Poiry. She was a graduate of St. Peters Commercial High School in Fort Wayne and won the Fort Wayne City Tennis Championship in 1931. On Sept. 14, 1940 she married Floyd Adair in Rome City. She was a member of Rome City United Methodist Church and retired from Monsanto Co. after 21 years of service. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Richard; and 2 sisters, Mary Roembke and Georgiana Rue. Surviving are 2 daughters, Linda Donley of Rome City and Laura Fox of Missoula, Mont.; a son, John of Lancaster, Calif.; a brother, Paul of Fort Wayne; 2 grandsons, Mark Donley and Alan Fox; 2 granddaughters, Molly Joyal and LaRae Adair; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Joyal. Services Monday at Rome City United Methodist Church. Burial, Orange Cemetery. ^ 1-14-2001
