Abraham and Frances moved to Kentucky around 1790 where they were among the founding families of Brunnerstown, later called Jeffersontown, KY. Frederick Geiger sold 122 acres to Abraham Bruner on May 6 1794. The name Brunerstown appears on one county map published as late as 1819. Abraham Bruner and John Stucky had a tannery near Galene Drive and Dell Road in Jeffersontown in the late 1790's.
Abraham Bruner and "Frayney" Bruner, his wife, indentured to Joseph Bruner 12 acres on the waters of Floyd's Fork. Abraham Bruner and his wife "Frayney" indentured to Philip Leihart for 104 acres. The indenture was witnessed by Joseph Bruner.
On 4 February 1800 Abraham Bruner and "Fannie" Bruner, his wife, indentured to Lindsey Shannon 7 3/4 acres, including a small spring, on a branch of Chenowith Run in Jefferson County including a small spring for £45.75.5. On August 15, 1800 a Sheriff's writ in name of F. Miller was issued against Abraham Bruner and levied on a house in Jefferson on Lot 52 to be sold. Jacob August was the highest bidder for £10,15 Shillings.
Abraham Bruner and his family, accompanied by his friend and business associate, John Stucky, moved to Indiana Territory about 1807. He and Frances were among the first settlers of Smithfiled (now Patoka), Indiana.
