Michael LaNoue was a Boy Scout who, along with two friends, Mike Early (memorial #20764767) and David Greenberg (memorial #20764646) died on Mr. Wrightson (also known as Mt. Baldy) in November of 1958 in a freak autumn snowstorm. He was just thirteen years old. Michael had just received his designation as a First Class Scout, and was an experienced hiker. He was known as a sweet and friendly yet daring kid, and like his two friends, wanted to summit Mt. Baldy that saturday afternoon at all costs. He and his buddies did not return alive. The events of that day, famous in southern Arizona history, are chronicled in Cathy Coltrin Hufault's excellent book "DEATH CLOUDS ON MT. BALDY, TUCSON'S LOST TRAGEDY", available from AMAZON.COM, and several other online and storefront booksellers. Ms. Hufault is the sister of surviving scout Ralph Coltrin.
