Funeral services for Stella Frances Hilderbrand, 41,were conducted Sunday afternoon by Charles Fuqua, minister of the Church of Christ at the Raymondville Cemetery. Mrs. Hilderbrand died Sunday morning, March 27, 1938, at her home near Santa Margarita after an illness of two weeks. She was born July 20, 1896 near Breckenridge where she resided until she moved to the Valley in January of 1920. She married W.T. (Tom)Hilderbrand in Stephens County on February 21, 1916. Earlier, in 1912, she was converted in the faith of the Church of Christ and was baptized at Center Ridge School House in Stephens County. Mrs. Hilderbrand was preceded in death by her parents, Mr.& Mrs. Milburn C. Knox. She and Mr. Hilderbrand had no children. Survivors include her husband, a sister, Ada Bell Dowda, and seven brothers, Benny, William, Earl, Elwood, Alvin, Buel and Iburn Knox. Pallbearers were C.F. Thompson, Bill Elam, Z.B. Elam. Joe Brooks, Wilson Brooks, and Arthur Wilsher.
