Stephen Royce served both in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. His application for a pension for his Revolutionary service was rejected/suspected, apparently because he was under age when he served. (Revolutionary War Soldiers Buried in Franklin County, Vermont compiled by W. R. Branthoover, 1979. Produced in Cooperation with the Georgia Historical Society and the Vermont Historical Society, Sept 1982)
