Myron G. L. Berg, age 75, of Winthrop died August 17, 1993, at Sioux Valley Hospital in New Ulm.

Myron was born July 28, 1918, in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County, to Clarence H. Myrtle A. (Lund) Berg. Myron attended country school New Sweden Township, Nicollet County, and Winthrop Public School. He worked on various farms I the New Sweden area.

He was married to Lucille Totman December 19, 1941, at United Methodist Parsonage, Brighton Township, Nicollet County by Rev. Hjelmaas.

He served in the U. S. Army, 1942-1945, as a sergeant in the Tank Destroyer Division. He was stationed in Hawaii and Palalu Islands.

After his discharge, they lived in Winthrop where he worked for the railroad and as a bulk driver for oil companies. They also lived in Fairfax where he was a livestock hauler and bulk driver. In 1963 they bought a farm near Winthrop where they lived until 1974 when they moved to a new home in Winthrop. He enjoyed fishing and baseball and softball games. In August 1991 they moved to the Southview Apartments in Fairfax. Since July 2, 1993, he has been a resident fo the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Sheryl and Duane Petterson of Albert Lea, Sharlene and Robert Ahlers of Gibbon; sons and daughters-in-law Michael, Sr., and Mary Berg of Tuckerton, NJ, David and Barb Berg of Tracy; 12 grand children; three great grand children; sister and brother-in-law Delores and Russell Johnson of Winthrop and Roland and Marie Berg of Gaylord; sisters-in-law Elaine Berg of Winthrop and Ruby (Mrs. Herb) Erickson of St. Paul; and the family of his late wife, Lucille, her brother, Ray Totman of Spencer, Iowa; sisters-in-law Dona Totman of Lafayette and Emily Totman of Winthrop; and brother-in-law Vern Fredin of Cosmos.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, July 27, 1993; his parents; and brothers Harris and Milford Berg.

Funeral services were held Aug 20 at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop with Interment in the Winthrop Cemetery. Rev. Paul A. Hesterberg officiated.
