Malcolm R. Averill, 81, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
He was born October 11, 1925 in Utica, a son of Harold R. and Bertha Emma Muthig Averill.
He married Dorothy Jackson on June 25, 1950, in Hornell. She died in 2006.
Mr. Averill was a refrigeration engineer and owned and operated the Averill Store Fixture Company in Utica. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Allen Smith of Clinton, Lynn and Mark Bubel of Appalachian, NY, and Carol and Steve Falk of Brownville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Myra Averill of Norwood, and Roderick and Claire Averill of Englewood, CO; 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Leroy Schafer of Tempe, AZ.
There will be a family graveside service Monday at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. There will be no calling hours. Utica Observer Dispatch, July 7, 2007
