Nellie Beers was born September 15, 1883. She received her formal education in the district schools and Uintah Stake Academy and her practical education from her parents.
Married at the age of seventeen John William Pope who was a very successful car dealer in Vernal. They had the following children: Venice who married Melvin Frank Toles; John Wendell who married Eva York; Nola married Clarence Byron Funk; Wells who married Delores Pitt; and Beth who married Arthur Clark Woolley.
The marriage of Nellie and John Pope was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple August 26, 1903. She was a model housekeeper. She was a good cook, a devoted mother, and a faithful wife. She enjoyed the training she received in Sunday School and MIA meetings.
With her husband she maintained a pleasant home where they reared five children to adulthood in Vernal. At the age of forty-eight she became ill and went to Southern California for help. She died at her sister, Ethel Isham's home in North Holliwood June 26, 1932, and was brought home to Vernal, Utah to be buried in the Vernal Cemetery July 1, 1932.

Mrs. Nellie Pope
Mrs. Nellie Beers Pope, wife of John W. Pope, died Sunday at North Hollywood, California, where she went several months ago to recover her health. The body was brought to Vernal Wednesday and funeral services will be held in the Vernal Second Ward today (Thursday) at 3 p.m.
Mrs. Pope was born September 15, 1885 at Pleasant Grove, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beers. She came to Vernal when a child. She attended school in the Uintah Academy and for many years assisted her parents in the operation of the "Big Four" store. She was an active worker in the Primary and Relief Society. On March 16, 1901 she married John W. Pope, a pioneer automobile and garage man of Ashley Valley.
Besides her husband, deceased is survived by the following children, Mrs. Venice Pope Toles, Wendell, Wells, Nola and Mrs Beth P. Wooley, all of Vernal and three grandchildren.
Several times during her stay in California it was thought that her condition was improving and shortly before her death she had felt better than for several weeks.
