He was married to Ethel Fry and Cora Elizabeth Hickox, though the order is uncertain. The Cora Elizabeth Hickox that he married was the same Cora that was his sister-in-law. He likely married her after his brother's death in order to provide for his nieces and nephews. The 1930 Federal Census shows Ben as married to Ethel Fry. It says Ben's age at first marriage was 25, which would put the marriage at around 1904. Ben did not have any children of his own. He died on July 18, 1936, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
