Of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at the age of 96 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois in 2006 after 63 years of marriage; one brother, Carlton and three sisters, Nell Nelson, Ruth Sorenson, and Jeanette Bowser. Mr. Bourdeaux is survived by four children, Serge (Veanna), Tom, Linda, all of Jackson, Dan of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Hillard and Lillian Gardas, both of Minnesota; 14 nieces and nephews. Mr. Bourdeaux was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Arizona prior to World War II. He won an individual Pacific Fleet swimming championship. He attended flight school while in the Navy and was a bi-plane pilot. He settled in Jackson and became a Jackson fireman in 1938, serving 28 years, retiring in 1966 as Superintendent of Fire Alarms. He was a member of NRA, former member of the International Associaton of Firefighters, and while with the fire department, he trained himself to be an electrician, advancing to the title of master electrician and founded Bourdeaux Electric Company. After retirement, he and Lois spent quality time camping and fishing. Services will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 a.m., Monday. Pastor Jerry Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Chas. J. Burden & Son 1806 E.
