This Indenture made and entered into on the 14th day of December AD 1863 by and between Alfred Eastland & Hiram Eastland of the County of Scott and State of Mississippi of the first part and John Gaddis of the County of Scott and State of Mississippi of the Second part Witnesseth; That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand and Six hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has this day granted bargained and sold unto him the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns the following tract or parcel of Land Situated in the County of Scott and State of Mississippi to Wit the South East Quarter of Section Number Sixteen (16) Township No. Seven (7) and Range No. Seven East, Containing one hundred & Sixty acres more or less to have and to hold said tract of Land unto him the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns for and during the term of Ninety-Nine years from the 13th day of January AD 1857. And the said party of the first part for himself his executors and administrators hereby covenant and agree that he will warrant and forever defend the title of said land unto him the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns for and during the Term of Ninety-Nine Years from the 13th day of January AD 1857. In
Witness whereof the said party of the first part hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written
