Bailey, John Elgin, 80, of Rt., 1 Uniondale, Ind. died Friday in the Clinic Hospital, Bluffton. A lifetime resident of Wells County, he was born in Union Twp. Jan 28, 1892, a son of Joseph E. and Lydia Ann Lepper Bailey. He was a retired farmer. His first marriage was to Lydia Myrl Gilbert, who died April 28, 1948. On Feb. 14, 1950 he was married in Fort Wayne to Blanche Alice Landfear, who survives. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Elizabeth) Decker of Huntington, Rt. 4 and Mrs Robert (Mary) Eichhorn of Rt. 1 Bluffton, a stepson, John Zion Sr. of Fort Wayne, 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchilren, a brother, Charles Bailey of Churubusco, and two sisters, Mrs. Dessie Middaugh of Zanesville and Mrs Della Redding of Fort Wayne. Mr Bailey was a member of the Ossian Nazarene Church. Services will be Sunday at the Goodwin Funeral Home, Rev. Frank Garton officiating, burial in St. Paul Cemetery.
