Filimon Abeyta, age 77, a resident of Abeytas, went to be with our Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, June 26.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Seferino Abeyta and Natividad Gutierrez Abeyta; two sisters, Mary Garcia and Sylvia Esquivel; and two brothers, Juan and Eloy Abeyta.

He is survived by two loving brothers, Ramon Abeyta and his wife, Lillian, of Abeytas, and Frank Abeyta and his wife, Angelina, of Barstow, Calif; and nieces and nephews, Nattie Thunderburk, Frances Morgas, Dolores Chavez, Rosanna Elgohary, Anna Maria Abeyta, Ricky Abeyta, Charles Abeyta, Sefie Abeyta, and John Abeyta. He is also survived by many loving great-grand nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at VistaCare and Laurel Meadows HealthCare and to the relatives, friends and neighbors who were so kind and supportive during this difficult time.

A public viewing and rosary were held at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Abeytas, on Friday, June 29. A funeral Mass of the resurrection will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Dennis Dolter presiding. Interment will follow at the Abeytas Catholic Cemetery.
