J.C. Hardy, 53, Dies of Gunshot
James C. Hardy, 53, of Perry Tuesday died from a gunshot wound of the head which Macon police said was self-inflicted.
Detective B.T. Oxley said Mr. Hardy was sitting in the kitchen with W.E. Clark of 557 Colquitt Street, a retired city policeman. He asked Clark if he had a gun he wanted to sell.
Clark showed him a Spanish-make revolver. As Mr. Hardy was looking at it he placed the barrel to his head and fired, according to Oxley.

Mr. Hardy was born in Peach County, the son of J.C. and Mrs. Mattie Howard Hardy. He was a carpenter and employed by the Homer Davis Construction Company.
Survivors are his wife, the former Miss Clyde McDaniel; one som, William E. Hardy, U.S. Air Force, San Antonio, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. J.D. Linton, Perry, and Mrs. S.E. Skipper, Route 3, Macon, also several nephews and one niece.
