British statesman, best known as the first person to die in a railroad accident. During his lifetime he held many protegoius pocessions, including a member of Parlament. He originally worked as a doctor, but when he went to Paris to work as a physican at the British Embassy, the French Revolution broke out and this event inspired him to take part in politics. He was crushed by "Stephenson's Rocket" the first modern railroad locomotive and passanger train, shortly after riding as a guest of honor on it.
