Motorcycle racer. Born in Castletown, Isle of Man, the leading Manx rider of his day and winner of the 1954 Junior Manx GP. In 1956 he came 2nd in the Junior TT and 6th in the Senior TT. In 1956 he crashed at more than 100mph in the Ulster Grand Prix on the Dundrod Circuit near Belfast. He failed to negotiate an S-bend, struck a bank, left the road and collided with a telegraph pole. He was buried at Malew Churchyard, just north of Castletown, and alongside the Southern 100 racing circuit.
