Born in Portsmouth, OH, he was the son of Allyson O'Neill Deviney of the home and Jerry P. Deviney of Simpsonville. He was a senior at Eastwood High School and attended Brookwood Community Church. Also surviving a brother, Patrick D. Deviney of Taylors; stepsister Tracey C.
