Hiram and Elmira (Stevenson) Deats of Flemington, New Jersey, had an only son, Hiram Edmunds Deats, whose picture is above, born May 20, 1870 at Brookville, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. He was a student at the Peddie Institute, Hightstown, N. J., and graduated with honors in June 1891.
