When the Crowley property on Memorial Drive in Dekalb CO, GA was sold in the 1950s, a shopping center was built on the property. The cemetery was excavated and a wall built around it. It is known as the Crowley Mausoleum, but the graves are actually on the top of it. According to a Crowley descendant interviewed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution years ago, John Hawkins was buried there because he was a "close family friend". In 2010, the mall has been demolished and a Wal-Mart store was built there, but the granite structure, still stands there in the parking lot. It is a historic reminder of the early pioneers who settled in Dekalb CO, GA.
