Staff Sgt. Kuglics of Green Ohio was a 2000 graduate of Green High School. He could have gone to several colleges to study engineering, including Arizona State and the University of Cincinnati but he chose the Air Force when he decided his calling was to serve his country. Being one to always look for a challenge, he applied and was selected to cross-train into the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Upon completion of the AFOSI Academy, he was assigned to Detachment 101, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. His plan was to retire after 20 years to teach high school history. He had been taking college courses. Matthew bought a house several months prior on a previous leave and his parents had been keeping his dog Hunter during this deployment. He was a caring and loving person with a heart of gold always putting others before himself and had the ability to bring smiles to all. His laugh was infectious and could fill the room. His motto was "no worries, no regrets". His life was short but he touched many. He was single and had no children. He was 25.
