IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Teddy Lee "Ted" Curtis, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 12, 2006 at Lincoln Court Retirement Center.

He was born April 21, 1936, in Jackson, Wyoming, to Herbert Stevens Curtis and Alice Louise (Kearsley) Curtis. He attended schools in Idaho Falls graduating from Idaho Falls High School. He entered the U. S. Army in June 1954 and served for three years, returning to Idaho Falls in June 1957.

He married Betty Sue McKemie on December 8, 1956 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. They raised five children and have lived in Idaho Falls all of their lives. He was involved in the bulk oil and tire industry his entire adult life.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also was a member of the Bonneville Cutter Association. He had a great love for raising and training horses, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling.

Survivors include two daughters: Terri S. Curtis of Rexburg, Idaho and Kristi L. Curtis of Layton, Utah; three sons: Steven L. (Brenda) Curtis, Mark A. (Holly) Curtis and Michael D. (Laurie) Curtis, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters: Ann C. (John) Howell of Leadore, Idaho and Nita C. Clark of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers: Herbert Stevens, Jr. and Lawrence Gilbert Curtis, and a granddaughter: Amy Curtis.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Idaho Falls LDS St. Leon Ward, 6925 North 15th East, with Bishop Larry Clayton officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and for one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
