CAROLL LUCILLE HERDE
Caroll Lucille, eldest daughter of Francis and Ruth Herde, was born on Armisitice day, November 1, 1933, near Billings, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Decoration day, May 30, 1940, at the age of 6 years, 6 months, 19 days. Caroll was of pleasant disposition and was loved by all who knew her. Monday afternoon she met with a tragic accident when her clothing caught fire and she was fatally burned. She was rushed to a hospital in Enid where all the medical skill and loving hands could do for her was of no avail: and she peacefully passed away Thursday evening at 11 o'clock. While in the hospital she was a brave little girl and bore her suffering patiently and without complaint. She leaves to mourn her untimely passing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herde; one brother, Morris Ray; two sisters Clarice Grace and Loretta Sue, her granparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edd L. Morris of Madison, Kansas; her great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Larcon, of Coyville, Kansas, and Mrs. Edd Morris of Silver Lake, Kansas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Christian Church of Billings, Okalhoma, conducted by Pastor King of Nardon, Okalhoma, assisted by Pastor Long of Billings, and interment was in the Billings Cemetery.
