Luella was the daughter of Luther and Minnie Daves. She moved from Palo Pinto County to the Tonk Valley community in Young County with her parents in 1942 at the age of 15.
She married Gordon Brown on April 11, 1947, and was a mother to four children; Teresa, Larry, Edith and Charles.
