She was the daughter of Leslie and Vivian (Utesch) Shulz. Doris married Eugene R. Burton on December 23, 1951, in Harvard, Illinois. She had worked as a bookkeeper at Harvard Hospital and as a secretary for Burton Farm Supply in Harvard. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard and the Harvard Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Shulz; and an infant son, Darrell Eugene Burton.
