Meshach Cooper was the son of James Cooper (1729-1795) & Elizabeth Wager (1740-1814). He married Elizabeth Ludwick (c1788-c1823) around 1808 & they had eight children. After Eliz. died, Meshach married Catherine Dorland (c1794-1860s) on 10 Feb 1824. Meshach was a blacksmith & a farmer. He was an uncle of author James Fenimore Cooper.
