After graduating the University of Arkansas, Mom worked as a Home Demonstration Agent in Mountain Home where she met and married Rex Paul. Together they traveled the country as a Navy Pilot family during WWII. Our brother, Rex Nelson was born during this time in Miami. After the war, first daughter Mary Elizabeth was born in Mountain Home, and Diane Hill followed a few years later while they lived in Jacksonville. There was always an abundance of love and charity in Neva's home--she saw to that, even through the many years of teaching school while raising three children.
Mom and Dad lived happily in Greenville, Mississippi for 20 years before retiring to their beloved Cotter. Together we mourned the passing of our dad in 1995, and then the loss of her son and our brother, Nelson, in 2002. Mother spent her last few years in her beautiful home in Ouray, Colorado near the two of us. She loved her life and there, where she remained active in senior activities and in DAR and retained her passion for life, indulging in her four grandchildren, her great-granddaughter, her dear friends and loving relatives until this passing. We will be eternally grateful to Mother and we will miss her.
