A loving one from us is gone—
The voice we love is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom was recalled
The boon His love has given,
And though his body slumbers here
His soul is safe in heaven;
And though we miss your loving voice,
Your kind and loving care,
The time is short, dear loved one,
Until we will meet you there.
