Mrs. McCarthy, 77, died Monday in a local nursing home.
A native of Iowa, Mrs. McCarthy had lived in Portland for 53 years. She was a banquet waitress, and was employed by the University Club, Multnomah Athletic Club, Memorial Coliseum, and other large organizations for a number of years.
She was a life member of the Waitress Union Local 305, the Russelville Grange, and the Four Square Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Warner, Portland; two sisters, Gladys Mullican, Scappoose, and Helen Noble, Portland; two brothers, Orville Quaring, Hillsboro, and Harry Quaring, Portland; one grandson, and two great grandchildren.
