Oscar was born in Brush Colorado, before his family moved to Texas.
He enlisted in the Marines 13 February 1967, at a San Antonio Recruiting Office.
Oscar graduated with Platoon 129 from the San Diego MCRD and had additional infantry training at Camp Pendleton.
Upon arriving in Vietnam, Oscar was assigned to 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. He died as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds to the head, back, chest, both buttocks and left leg from a hostile mortar round fired at the
night defensive position of Charlie, at Cau Do Bridge and 5 kilometers south of Danang City.
Oscar was single and served his country for 6 months and 16 days and was KIA #15,667.
Tour of duty date unknown.
Oscar was 20 years,1 month and 34 days old.
Survived by his parents, Urbano Roberto and Ofelia Anzaldua and a sister, Elda of 892 East Norman Street, Raymondville, Texas and his brothers; George, Urbano, Eddie, Richard and Gilbert and his sisters; Natalie, Mary and Hilda all of Raymondville.
Survived by his wife, Helena Lopez Anzaldua and his daughter, Jerri Lee Anzaldua of Raymondville, Texas.
