"Sputter" was a special gift from God who brought joy and comfort into my life. She was the smartest cat I've ever known, and I know God will unite her with me in the new world. Until then she sleeps peacefully.

SPUTNIK'S BIOGRAPHY:

It is a miracle that Sputter survived as a kitten. I fed her with a medicine dropper, starting the 4th. day of her life - feeding her every 2 to 3 hours. Although her mother was healthy, she evidently was a carrier of a respiratory virus. I had to force baby Sput to take her formula, and she developed a serious eye infection in her left eye which she almost lost. The vet. I was using at that time wanted to put her down, saying Sput would never live - but my heart would not let me end her life. Two days later I took her to a new vet, who took a special interest in Sput. By working together through God, Sput survived, and her eye was saved as well!

Our hearts were bonded together one morning when Sput was about 2 months old. She was enjoying her formula, when suddenly she looked up into my eyes, and spoke for the first time! She was a happy, healthy, loving girl from then on, except for having a small stroke 1-1/2 years before she died. The stroke effected her right front leg, and she had problems walking for a few months. She made a complete recovery however, and went on to live a happy and active life until Jan. 13, 2007. Sput was sleeping on my lap, when she suddenly had an attack. We rushed her to our vet., and learned she had suffered a blood clot which paralyzed her back legs. We did everything within our knowledge to save her. She had always shared my pillow at night, so I carried her to bed with me every night and placed her on our pillow. Since she was paralyzed, I had to carry her everywhere - to her litter box, to feed her, and to different locations throughout the house to try and keep her happy and comfortable. Sputter did improve the first week after suffering the stroke, but her little heart was too week to overcome all of her problems. She began having breathing problems after the third week. Our vet. said she was beginning to build up fluids. We put her on oxygen, which only helped for a couple of days. At the end of Sput's last day with me, she wanted to be held on my shoulder (always her favorite place in the whole wide world). She nudged my face once, purred, then wanted to lay down. I felt her telling me that she was ready to go, so with heavy hearts, my vet. gently put Sputter to sleep as I held her in my arms.

Sputter was my best friend, who I dearly loved, and we were truly a part of each other. She had such a loving soul, to everyone - animals and humans. I know she is with God now, and I look forward to being reunited with her in the new world.
