EVELYN FENDER ALLEN
1923-2007

Evelyn Fender Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Fender, died peacefully on April 16, 2007. Evelyn was born in Macon, Georgia and grew up in Bronson, Florida. She graduated from Bronson High School and Ocala Business College. She moved to Milton in 1945 as the newlywed wife of Thomas West Allen, Jr. After her children entered school, she worked for the Santa Rosa School district until her retirement. Evelyn was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Milton and has been in the "Willing Workers" Sunday School Class since 1945. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Milton Garden Club and was an avid bridge player. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife and a mother who always put her children's needs above her own. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Frank and Fred Fender; her sister Irene Yearty; her daughter, Janice Allen and her husband, Thomas West Allen, Jr.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her sister, Reba Griffin; her daughters and their husbands, Faye and Bill McNeal and Fran and Mark Rohling and her son, and his wife, Tom and Leslie Allen. She was the proud grandmother of Brent McNeal and his wife Ashley; Curt McNeal; Christopher Rohling and his wife Beth; Lori Rohling Howard and her husband Joshua and Grayal Evelyn Allen and Merina Taylor Allen. Evelyn was blessed with Great Grandchildren, Camaron Rohling, Madison Howard, Madisen and Ryleigh Perkins. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was a brave lady who gave many gifts to all who knew her. Her quick wit, gentle manner and giving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church of Milton. Visitation will begin at 1 pm on Friday at the church, prior to service. Burial will follow in the Allen Family Cemetery in Allentown, Florida. LEWIS FUNERAL HOME is directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that those who wish to do so, make a donation to Milton First United Methodist Church's Building Fund.
