Tail Gunner aboard B-24D Liberator #41-24232, nicknamed "Calaban."

Went down over the industrial target area of Emden, Germany after being struck by bombs dropped from a bomber in an above element. Nine crew members were killed in the crash, and one parachuted and was captured and became a POW. Missing Air Crew Report 1653.
