Billy Frank Nance, 77, of Charlotte, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Presbyterian Hospital. A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. in Sandy Creek Cemetery in Tyro by the Rev. Larry Mitchell. Mr. Nance was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Davidson County to William Bradley and Hope Parnell Nance. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and a Korean War veteran and retired from Stallings Refrigeration after 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Von and George Nance. Surviving are his wife, Verona Swinson Nance; two daughters, Julia Nance Brown and Cindy Nance, both of Charlotte; two sisters, Barbara Smith and Gean Payne, both of Lexington; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Nevins Center, 3523 Nevin Road, Charlotte, N.C. 28269. Raymer Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
