OBITUARY: Campbellsport News March 2, 19144 "Wm. Berg Yields to Illness; Buried Saturday. William Berg, 87, died Thursday morning, March 2, after a lingering illness at his home. He was born in the Town of Ashford March 30, 1856 and married to Barbara Weber, August 27, 1878. They resided on the Math Thelen farm, retiring in 1928 and moving to Campbellsport.
Surviving are his widow and a 8 sons and daughters. Mrs. Barbara Sommers and Mrs. Elizabeth Bonesho of Milwaukee, Mrs. Gretchen Schlaefer, Mrs. Gillie Hall, Mrs. Mamie Schlaefer and Arnold Berg of here, Ed Berg, Mrs. Fatherine Butschlick of Ashford, 28 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A brother Martin of Edgar, and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Wietor of Milwaukee, Mrs. Catherine Weber of Merton, and Mrs. Lena Thelen of Ashford. The body will be in state at the Berg residence after 5 p.m. Thursday until time of the funeral rites Saturday at 8:30 A.M. at the home and 9 A. M. at St. Matthew's church. Rev. A. C. Biwer will officiate with burial in St. Matthew's cemetery."
