Her baptismal name was Franziska Dorthea Gertrud Anna. She was the first child born to Peter Josef Keller and Caroline Schalong in Chicago, Cook, Illinois at 347-24th Street. She married Truman M. Butts on October 26, 1911 in Chicago. They were the parents of: Newell L./1913, Dorothy M./1914, Mildred E./1916, Barton K./1918, Roy A.1921, She moved to Plymouth, Iowa shortly after her marriage and remained there for the rest of her life. Frances did exquisite quilting and provided all of the family with her hand sewn quilts. Her patterns were varied and her stitches were tiny. She died of cancer at age 53 years. The funeral was held at her home and at the M. E. Church with the Rev. T. C. Collister officiating. Her favorite songs "Heaven Is My Home", "When I Take My Vacation In Heaven" and "In The Garden" were sung by Mrs. Boyd Hodson and Mrs. W. J. Wurn.
