He was born to Joseph A. and Laura A. Dinkel Miller and attended St. Joseph Military Academy. He married Jerry Ann Smith on April 27, 1957, in Wichita and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a maintenance supervisor at Chief Industries, Russell, for 23 years and was a farmer, stockman and master craftsman. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lambert Miller and Joseph Miller, an uncle, Fr. Emil Dinkel; and two aunts, Sr. M. Lioba Dinkel and Sr. M. Appollonia Dinkel. Cletus died at Hays Medical Center at age 69.

Cletus Miller, 69, Catherine, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Hays Medical Center. He was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Catherine to Joseph A. and Laura A. (Dinkel) Miller.

He attended St. Joseph Military Academy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a maintenance supervisor at Chief Industries, Russell, for 23 years and was a farmer, stockman and master craftsman. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hay.

He married Jerry Ann Smith on April 27, 1957, in Wichita.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Cletus Miller, Jr. and wife, Shari, Manhattan, Chris Miller and fiance', Faye, Hays, and Edward Miller, Colby; two daughters, Lori Miller, Catherine, and Lisa Buhrle and husband, Chris, Hays; two brothers, Verlin F. Miller, Victoria, and Larry Miller, Harrah, Okla.; four sisters, Remegia Gottschalk, Hutchinson, Betty Miller, Los Angelos, Ann Hall, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sandie Gerstner, Hays; six grandchildren, Joseph Miller, Clayton Buhrle, Joshua Miller, Jessica Ann Miller, Trenton Miller, and Lacy Miller; a great-grandson, Preston Miller; and two step-grandaughters, Kaitlyn Phillips and Kimberly Woodworth.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lambert Miller and Joseph Miller, an uncle, Fr. Emil Dinkel; and two aunts, Sr. M. Lioba Dinkel and Sr. M. Appollonia Dinkel.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays; burial in St. Catherine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Big Brothers Big Sisters in care of the funeral home.
