Patricia, 59 years old of Kilgore, daughter of D.A. Shawn,Jr. and Lorene Shawn Williams, stepdaughter of J.C. Williams, led a Christian life touching many lives around her. Patricia was educated at Stephen F. Austin State University and taught in several school districts besides teaching at Maude Laird Middle School in Kilgore.
Survivors include her daughter, and son-in-law, Jeff and Melanie Spiva, grandchildren Brendan, Megan, and Ryan Spiva of Stephens City, Virginia; her son of the home, Timothy Mason; a sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Joe Poindexter of Independence, MO; brothers and sister-in-laws, Eddie and Linda Shawn of Liberty City; Don and Pat Shawn of Bucklin, MO; Richard and Becky Shawn of Tyler, TX; and Jack Shawn and fiance'e, Vicki Miller of Burnsville, Minnesota; and a sister-in-law Robbie Shawn Sumpter of Phoenix, AZ; and a neighbor and friend Angela Alexander.
Her parents, brother Charles Shawn and her husband, Doyle Mason preceded her in death.
Funeral was held at Liberty City Assembly of God Church. Burial was at Lakeview Mausoleum in Longview, TX. Pallbearers were Glenn Cherry, Steve Pace, Shannon Wilds, Ray Jackson, Tony Addie, Eric Davis, Keith Sjogren, and Merl Muse.
