Phyllis I. Wood Poynter, 67, of Hanover, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Blossburg, Pa., the daughter of Jesse and Pauline Bruder Wood. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Denise Poynter Juarez of Cecil, Ohio; two sisters, Carolyn Stoner and Janice Wood, both of Nappanee; two brothers, Raymond Wood and Roger Wood, both of Gillett, Pa.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Carl Poynter, who died on May 23, 2003; her parents; one sister; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service Thursday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the WHAS Crusade for Children. Contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
