Mrs. Barbara Ann Staples Blackburn, 75, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 19, 1931, in Raleigh to Grace Tippet and Harold Anthony Staples. Surviving are her husband, Aldine Blackburn; a son, Aldine "Dean" Blackburn Jr.; a grandson, Aldine "Bo" Blackburn III; brothers-in-law Chuck and O.C. Blackburn; nieces Bobby and Susi Cotheran; a faithful friend, Nancy Carpenter; and all of her other friends she loved dearly. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Forsyth Memorial Park, with Dr. Cecil Cave and the Rev. Clint Branch officiating. There is no stated visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Society Inc., 3175 Maplewood Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. (Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of arrangements.)
