Stella (Mancini) Barone, 84, of East Hartford, loving wife of Michele P. Barone, passed away on Wednesday (February 21, 2007) at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in Wethersfield on November 27, 1922, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Isabella (Llama) Mancini, she had resided in East Hartford for the past 54 years. Stella was a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II. She was a long-time communicant of St. Mary's Church, East Hartford and a wonderful homemaker and fabulous cook. Besides her devoted husband of over 60 years, Mrs. Barone is survived by two caring daughters, Patricia Fitzgerald and her husband, John of Ashford, Nancy Walsh and her husband, Joe of South Windsor; four adored grandchildren, Michael Fitzgerald and Kevin Fitzgerald both of Glastonbury, Joey Walsh and Kate Walsh both of South Windsor; three brothers, Nicholas Mancini and his wife, Honey of Wethersfield, Dominic Mancini and his wife, Clair of San Diego, CA, George Mancini and his wife, Lillian of Wethersfield; a sister, Florence Mancini of Newington; a sister-in-law, Ann Milano of Wallingford; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Burial with military honors will be at the Veteran's Memorial Field-Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
