T. H. Adams was born in Alabama on December 2nd, 1861. Coming to Texas in 1867, he lived in Matagorda and Gonzales Counties until he was about seventeen years of age, then came to Caldwell County where he lived the remainder of his life on Tinneys Creek near McMahan.
He was married to Mrs. Margaret Jane Baker on July 9, 1885, of this union were born six children, three girls and three boys.
He is survived by his wife and six children, R. H. Adams, B. F. Adams, E. A. Adams, Mrs. R.T. McGee, Mrs. J. C. Halsell, and Mrs. G. B. Reed all of McMahan...(unreadable) also three stepchildren, Mrs. A. M. Hedges, Smiley; Mrs. J. ? Long, Lockhart, J. J. Baker of Mathis; two brothers, J. A. Adams of McMahan and Bennett Adams of Cooper; seven grandchildren and twelve step-grandchildren. One step-daughter, Cordelia Baker, preceded him in death seven years.
He died March 15, 1923 and was buried in the Jeffrey Cemetery at McMahan. Funeral services were conducted by Elder R. Cole.
Mr. Adams was one of the most conscientious and useful citizens of Caldwell and served the people in many ways. At the time of his death he was a member of the County School Board, having been appointed at the time the body was created."
